This game has been lovingly crafted over many years to ensure that fans can truly touch the world of ONE PIECE… and now, ONE PIECE ODYSSEY is ready to set sail!
ONE PIECE ODYSSEY is an RPG project to commemorate ONE PIECE brand’s 25th Anniversary, which combines classic staples of the JRPG genre with the unique elements of ONE PIECE. As with other games in the genre, the party members earn experience points after battle and level up once enough points are accumulated. In some battles a random element of the system titled “Dramatic Scene” places the player in inconvenient situations playing to the characters’ personalities, such as Sanji being unable to attack because he is surrounded by women, and overcoming them nets greater rewards. Players can then optimize the positions of party members between areas to counter opponents. The combat system revolves around “Scramble Area Battles” system, where battles are divided into several areas. Every playable character has a unique ability in line with their powers, which are used for traversal, collecting items, and solving puzzles.Īfter engaging an enemy in the field, the game transitions to the battle screen, where the characters’ actions are controlled using menu commands. The combat blends in Monster Hunter Stories 2-like rock paper scissors mechanics, positioning, One Piece abilities, and more with traditional turn-based mechanics to be more interesting than I expected.One Piece Odyssey is a turn-based role-playing game. If you were afraid of One Piece Odyssey being a typical anime-licensed game trying to cash in on the name, don’t be. What I can say is it left me with a refreshing RPG that may not revolutionize the genre, but I think starts the year off right for either or both RPG and One Piece fans.
Awesome graphics and effects were spiced up in this game.Enjoy the adventure with Luffy to meet up with his crew members.Help Luffy and his crew to set sail again once again as they are swallowed by a huge storm at sea and end up on a mysterious island and become separated from each other.
